Yachtsmen looking for extra power without extra size and weight can find it in Yanmar's new 1GM10 diesel engine. Yanmar have up-powered their popular 1GM model by 20% to re-create its trusty performance at a higher 6.7kW, with negiligible change in size, weight and shape. Its only gain is a heftier flywheel to maintain smooth running and easy starting.

Time-Tested Design

The 1GM10 uses the well-proven sleeveless design of the 1GM but with a great bore-piston diameter. This modification not only keeps it as the most compact, lightest sub-7kW inboard diesel engine but also puts it on plans for a wider range of boat designs.

Every boatowner will appreciate its low smoke and soot-free emission, and some of the quietest, smoothest running ever to come out of a diesel.

Problem-free Starting

Starting is either turn key via a 12V electric system, or manual: made effortless by a decompression system. There are two types of instrument panels available with simple plug in cable connectors. All other assets of the 1GM reappear in the new engine to make it an entry onto the boat scene that's bound to meet the approval of designers and owners.

Gearbox choice

A choice of 3 reduction gear ratios are available to enable you to match the engine power to your particular boat's requirements
